All of the care / support staff employed by ATCS are extensively trained in all aspects of care and support ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge, skills and competence to fulfil their duties.

The ATCS training programme currently has 31modules with more being added as they become available these include:

  • Moving and Handling
  • Confidentiality
  • Record keeping
  • Company policies and precedures
  • Medication administration and assistance
  • Infection control
  • Person centred planning

Refreshers and updates of all this training are carried out at regular intervals

In addition to the standard 31 training modules specialist training is given to meet specific needs that have been identified either at the start of the service or as a result of a change in need these include but are not limited to:

  • Makaton
  • Peg feeding
  • Stoma/Catheter Care
  • Dementia awareness
  • Acquired Brain Injury

All staff are actively encouraged to gain nationally recognised qualifications such as NVQ or QCF
